How to naturally dye fabric black

I went to a hill tribe today and was shown how to naturally dye fabric.
So inspiring! Thought I'd share how to dye fabric (natural fabric ofcourse) black!
Ethically. Eco friendly. Green process. You name it, it's good for the planet!
And it's black! And anyone who knows my fashion designs or my fashion style.
Black is my favourite colour.
Well black is not a colour its a void of any light. But let's not go there.

Here it is simply.

Use ebony fruit.
Use lots of black ebony fruit in a big container with lots of water.
Leave to stew in warm.
Luckily thailand is about 35 degrees so you can leave the pot of stewing ebony fruits outside. For us Brits we should probably use about 30 ebony fruit in. A pot put it on the stove and let it see for a good few hours until the water is black and you cannot see through the water any more.

Then dip the fabric. Let it soak up all the black goodness. Rinse out and hang to dry for 24 hours. To get really dark black you need to repeat process about 30 times

But that's he beauty. Real dark coloured fabric.
Handmade with lots of time love and energy!!
