St tropez self tan luxe dry oil review

I DO NOT LIKE IT. 

I am not new to fake tanning.

I am not actually a fan of fake tanning. 

The creams always streak. 

The mousses always streak. 

At last I found an oil. 

I'm all about that oil when it comes to beauty products. Oil in my hair. Oil in my beard. Oil on my skin. Oil on my face. Oil on my feet. Oil on my. Okay you get the point. 

It's quite easy nowadays to find an oil that doesn't get sticky. One that absorbs nicely and one that doesn't smell like oil. 

I jumped straight in. I lathered my body in this oily tan. 

I'm expecting sumptuous smooth moisturised gradual tanning skin to ensue. 

I shake the bottle as suggested. The oil looks like magical unicorn blood. It's full of glitter.....(I love that) - I guess it's meant to work as a guide. So you can see the places you've tanned. 

As I'm lathering my body I basically turn into a glittery unicorn of a human. 

I don't mind this if I was to stay indoors for suggested 4-8 hours. 

That's fine I don't mind I'll do the tan ritual in early afternoon and shower before bed. (Hate sleeping in tan) 

I carry on transforming myself into a brown unicorn. It smells like metal. Like smelly door handles. (I don't like that). 

I get every crease and wrinkle of skin covered. 

I wait. I become increasingly smelly and sticky. My skin is uncomfortable. It's like I've bathed in cooking oil. 

By the way I didn't even use a tonne of oil. It spreads quite far.

I continue to get on with my afternoon/evening. 

The colour change is gradual but effective. That I like. 

I'm just so uncomfortable. I'm sticky I'm smelly. My skin cannot breathe. And I am soooooo glittery. 

I kind of love the glitter. But it is very impractical. 

I wash it all off. Floods of brown water down the plug hole.

I emerge from that steamy shower a lovely tanned version of my former self. No streaks. No overly tanned skin! 

The colour is great. The no streaks is great.  The uncomfortable sticky smelly glittery 4-8 hours wasn't so great. 

I do continue to use this product because the tan is great. It's effective. 

I just don't have 4-8 hours to spare a lot of the time. I can't sit around every week for 4-8 hours being a sticky glittery mess. 

If those points changed this would be AMAZING. 

What self tan do you use? I'd love to know. I like hassle free tanning that doesn't go orange or streaky and the smell eurgggghhhh the smell!!!

I've been training myself in perfumery for the past two years, i am pretty well equipped in the knowledge of the art now, and got slightly hooked on essential oils and their qualities thanks to a lovely little book called "the fragrant pharmacy by valerie ann worwood"
its a great book on essential oils and their aromatherapy quailties
i highly recommend this book even for a great read!

back to my perfume collection; here is an image of it so far, i have used some and my partner threw the empties away, probably for the good as i love to hang onto perfume bottles and its pointless because i cant ever get the nozzles off to refill said bottles with my own concoctions! if you have a trick on how to remove perfume heads without breaking the bottle id love to know!

to start: my beloved Chanel, i have no5 and coco noir, no5 has lasted a great while, mainly because its a fragrance saved for special occasions.  coco noir, i have reviewed this one on a previous post! but seriously what an upgrade! its great only problem, it doesnt last as long as many of my other perfumes. alas i love it, it makes me feel powerful when i wear it!

my muglers! thierry mugler is king of perfume in my eyes, i love alien its my signature smell!
it smells so different on different people!
i have refill bottles of course!
i love the idea of a refill, hence my anger towards old bottles not being able to be reused!

i really recommend people try new fragrances especially the limited editions that mugler does because they are not gimmicks like many limited editions they are really something special like my amen that has leather infused into it, its mesmerising! i am savouring every last drop of that bottle!

coco noir chanel paris eu de perfum review

i have been lusting over this perfume for a while now, then when drooling over it at the airport in duty free, i was bought it as a bithday gift, i am over the moon.
this perfume is magical.
the first smell makes your eyelids close, you think of spraying it from your vanity table, the mist in the air matching the autumn crispness of outside, run down the road in a fur coat get a coffee and sit all day reading fashion magazines.
it takes you to another world, one of parisian couture.

what first made me love this perfume was my love for no5 had faded quickly when it kept reminding me of baby powder. i needed a change, i have always worn alien for it makes me drift into a state of confidence, i needed a perfume that matched the magical sense of thierry mugler alien.

i was looking througha ll the chanel perfumes, not one to restrict a perfume toa  gender after all its essential oils in alchahol, where is the gender in that?

i remember the launch of noir back in 2012, the black bottle sucked me in, anything dark and mysterious im your man!

the glass bottle is beautiful, only problem i like my bottles a little bit opaque just so i can see how much perfume i have left, this one is black, and you definitely cannot see through it, also the sticker on the chanel bottles always seem so cheap, i mean if youre paying £100+ fora  perfume, i want better quality, you listening chanel? :)

the sillage of this perfume isnt great but thats what i like, i wear my thierry mugler scents for the power, this one is more about the sexiness, the idea that someone has to get close to you to smell it, the intimacy. the longevity is good, not as great as what you would expect from a £100+ perfume, but it is still great for an evening out, on me about 4 hours and i need a respray, but im one to smell of perfume all the time, even before bed i spray a perfume on.

with teh top notes of bergamot and grapefruit opening the scent you get a sharp wakening, wakes you up! gets you ready, that floats off and unveils a bouquet of floral middle notes, a welcome, a bunch of flowers.

and leaving a woody musk smell, with tonka bean, sandal wood and obviously white musk, would it be chanel without white musk,this is nice, it leaves an almost warming winter chai tea latte smell to your wrist, minus the cinnamon.....

overall, i am very excited to wear this on my travels up to london in the colder months, sit on the train in my big winter coats, and hold my wrist to my nose and lose myself in a world of croissants in paris and shows at the moulin rouge.

parks massage candles review!

im going to write a small personal review on a little luxury that i am OBSESSED with;
parks london - massage candles;

these little beauties are made up of primarily oils from soya oil, almond oil to essential oils such as grapefruit or cinnamon!


they come in a ceramic jug, great to reuse!


i will do a write up on here on a homemade diy massage candle using the jug from this one! when i do i will link through for you :)


you burn them down and wait for the waxy like substance to melt. just like a normal candle!
(they remind me of a solid perfume they melt when you rub them and smell like a perfume)

then blow it out wait five minutes and simply pour the warm oil onto your partner/friends back and massage in, with the benefits of essential oils and the moisturising benefits of almond and other oils its a glorious time for your skin!

i have purchased myself three of these and will be purchasing more, i was lucky and found mine in tkmaxx/tjmaxx for a third of the price!
here is a link to the parks website where they are stocked, but if i was you id hunt for them in tk/tjmaxx first!
if you cant find them,they are definitely worth the full price just for a bit of luxury!

what is the best hair argan/moroccan oil?

I post alot about hair, mainly because i am growing mine, down to the floor. so not only can i get down with my bad self i can also get down with my hair. whip it back and forthhhh!


anyway, onto the subject,, the quizzing conundrum that is hair oils.

i have tried many an oil and compiled a list of the best and not so great.

i have normal hair, straight, dark colour with light roots-midlengths.

i will get straight into it.

i am going to talk about four hair oils.

in order of loved to disliked;
M-MORROCAN HAIR OIL £30 - its the best. no dobt about it, it reduces blow dry time use on dry or wet hair, tames fly aways and really does nourish your hair. this one is my favourite. its probably the priciest but honestly its totally worth every penny.

argan oil - hair xpertise from boots £13
this is a great product, again use on wet and dry, reduces time of blow drying and nourishes hair. it doesnt feel as luxurious as M but smells divine, i feel the golder the colour the better the product (just a thought).

got2b hair oilicious £4
this product is great, a cheaper alternative, but you really dont get that much, and i generally apply after washing my hair onto towel dried hair, and then blow dry then i apply before i go to sleep to the ends.

argan oil - hair treatment (ebay) 
cheapest of all four and you really can tell the difference, you have to use sucha  little amount because it weighs hair down and makes hair very greasy, its great for an over night treatment but its really nothing compared to any of the above.

i reccomend M moroccan oil but thats pricey so if money is an issue the hair xpertise and got2b are equally as good, you get more from hair xpertise but it is 3 times the price!
