home trend summer 2016 - worn wood.

one trend i want to pick up on is worn wood. i am in love, from he waxed cabinets from rajistahn and the wind battered shutters of cyprus, to the white washed chairs of turkey. all these items can be included in your home decor to add a freshness, and its just a lick of paint or a 7 haha..

you can layer paints, pick at the effect, scratch off to reveal new colours, or sad off, then seal with a  wax, or leave unsealed to continue the change of colours by use.

Homemade natural intense moisturiser

Empty container

Shea butter 

Tea tree oil 

Added bonus instant tanner 

Add lump of Shea butter to empty pot

Add in ten to twenty drops of tea tree less for less intense. 

FYI tea tree Is anti bacterial

Add few drops of self tan for a tanning quality (won't be natural)

Mix together and there you have it a natural intense anti bacterial moisturiser for face and body! 

redone my balcony

i have a beautiful balcony with a beach view, it was in need of some tlc, so me and my partner decided to revamp our little outside getaway, we wanted to privatise the area, and create an extension to our home we used astroturf on the floor to create a welcoming outdoor feel, and its washable, brush it down and hose it down! we even vacuumed it! (hoovered) adding elements of wicker baskets and fire logs around the edge, with planted lavender and other shrubbery along the edge in hanging basket/trellaces. but instead of hanging these baskets we placed them on the floor. adding a screen to the railings created a feel of intimacy and privacy. we used a brushwood to add texture and warmth. we then reused an old bench adding a dry brush paint effect to balance the concrete walls and greenery. finishing with an old fisherman's rope along the railings. few more little touches here and there and we have a beautiful balcony.

make your own bath milk

ever wanted that cloudy cleopatra style bath, like the one rihanna has in her video 'stay'

well here is my own recipe for a herbal flower infused bath milk;

what you need;

milk powder

dried lavender

dried chamomile

dried rose petals

essential/fragrance oils of your choice

my other optional extras  a bath oil of your choice, i chose my favourite - chanel no5 intense bath oil!

you mix the first four ingredients together in a  large jar, the milk powder the chamomile,lavender and the rose petals, mix up well and add drops of the essential oils/fragrance oils, i chose rose oil, and then i added some chanel no5 bath oil into the mx, remember the mixture is going into a lot of water, so make it as strong as you like!

mix all together, shake shake shake!

let sit for 24 hours.

and voila! 

add as much as you want to the bath to create the depth of luxury you like and turn on some relaxing music and you have a beautiful luxurious floral milk bath!

with chamomile and lavender for relaxing and the milk is moisturising too!

parks massage candles review!

im going to write a small personal review on a little luxury that i am OBSESSED with;
parks london - massage candles;

these little beauties are made up of primarily oils from soya oil, almond oil to essential oils such as grapefruit or cinnamon!


they come in a ceramic jug, great to reuse!


i will do a write up on here on a homemade diy massage candle using the jug from this one! when i do i will link through for you :)


you burn them down and wait for the waxy like substance to melt. just like a normal candle!
(they remind me of a solid perfume they melt when you rub them and smell like a perfume)

then blow it out wait five minutes and simply pour the warm oil onto your partner/friends back and massage in, with the benefits of essential oils and the moisturising benefits of almond and other oils its a glorious time for your skin!

i have purchased myself three of these and will be purchasing more, i was lucky and found mine in tkmaxx/tjmaxx for a third of the price!

if you cant find them,they are definitely worth the full price just for a bit of luxury!
