starting your own fashion label

I have run my own Fashion label for over two years now.

here is what I've learnt.

You need a good collection, well made, great ideas and good quality fabrics.

You need to start small, and be consistent with the amount of work you produce.

Then enquire with PR agents whether they want to have an informal chat about your brand.

Develop a Ready To Wear range, make some money. use Etsy or Asos Marketplace.
Etsy is the best (its cheap and has a wider audience)

Upload your designs on notjustalabel.com.

money is a big contender in the fashion industry especially for start ups; if you could spare a few pounds id really appreciate it;




 


This is only a brief outline to starting label, you will learn, you will make mistakes but you will get there, i will be writing more posts in the next few weeks about different elements of starting your own label.

this is a quick update, i have new stock on my etsy and asos pages! i spent the day in central london sourcing new jersey, this jersey is much softer and a little bit lighter! i created a few new looks for my company, still using my trademark writing. i wanted to get a real feel of old school rebel mixed with the luxury of fashion design. here is a few looks: many more on asos and etsy

it was so lovely to see someone who like me has been told "no, its not wearable, no, its not commercial" yet still push and push now she succeeds leading the way for body confidence and opening a future of plus size fashion, an ambassador of the plus size world, having modelled for plus size clothing companies and being the face of miss international bbw 2013! this beautiful women has grown into a successful independent strong business women and i know she will have the world at her feet, because with gemma when she wants something she will not stop until she gets it! please check her website out, send over some love from me, you can get her on social medias under @iamgemmac
