what to do with yankee candle tarts that have been melted!

i am an avid user of the yankee candle tarts, i use them daily! but they dont really last very long!
i burn them all evening into the night! and they seem to be very dull the next day!
i have come up witha  great way to re-use the melted wax!

you will need, a pan of boiling water,

  •  a bowl bigger than the pan to melt the wax in,
  •  essential or fragrance oil, **
  • a jar or container fo your choice,
  • a stick long enough to balance on opening of said container, chop stick is usually best.
  • a paperclip, to tie the wick to the stick(chopstick)
  • candle wick.**

  1. break the wax melt into pieces
  2. attach wick to bottom of chosen container using blutack-(i prefer white tack)
  3. tie wick** into the center using paper clip to fasten wick onto the balanced chopstick
  4. melt wax in a bowl over boiling water
  5. add essential oil/fragrance oil** into the melted wax*
  6. pour wax into container paying careful attention to the wick staying central
  7. i added wax chunks as it made it quicker to fill the container, and the heat from the wick burning will melt these chunks.
  8. i used different colour wax and added different scents to each colour to add some variety.
  9. refrigerate over night

*i used about 10 drops of essential oil, use more to add more strength in smell or less. play around with this to get the right strength for you!

** i bought my fragrance/essential oils and candle wick from www.plushfolly.com

you can create a hundred variations of this, and its perfect for around the home, as gifts and a great activity to do with friends or your kids!

i have also poured the melted wax into ice cube trays and created dozens of new tart like cubes! just melt them on your burner, just like the yankee candle tarts!
